So I have been on a blogging hiatus for about a month trying to recoup from school.
A little recap of what my first month of summer has been would be as follows:
Week one: bed. sleep. Hulu. Netflix. sleep. naps. barely exiting my room. (best week ever)
Week two: worked 8-5 all week. Made some cash.
Week three: Hawaii. Beach. Pool. Naps. Books. Food. Sun. 2nd Degree sun burns. Sara and Matt.
Week Four: Hawaii. OWEN! Jessie. Pool. Beach. Naps. Friday Night Lights. Food.
So I guess it has been a pretty successful month so far but I leave tonight for Montana and I have to return to reality. :(
Some of the highlights of the trip have been:
1. Mana-Ray Night Dive!
2. Mid-morning naps
3. Mid-evening naps
4. Papaya
5. Fresh Fish
6. Beach with Owen.

Cassidy Canyon Rappelling Trip!
Awesome trip to south Utah for Matt's Graduation trip!
It was my first time rappelling and it was really sick....scary but awesome.
I AM DONE!
I am done with 25% of my college career!
It wasn't too bad.
It went by way too ridiculously fast.
Things I'll miss about freshman year:
1. Magic Money Card (Meal Plan)- $11 a day
2. Incredibly (too) high milk in take
3. Being able to walk down the hall and hang out with friends 24/7
4. Really really late nights watching Bones till 4 in the morning
5. Major procrastination
6. Camille, Carrie, Keaton, Ellen, Carly, Brittany, Robin
7. Harassing Robin
8. Pranks (mostly on Robin)
9. $1 Theater
10. Being so close to campus
11. Being able to afford the MOA
12. Cannon breakfast
(even though I only discovered how amazing it was the last week of school)
Things I won't miss about freshman year:
1. Tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny shared room
2. Getting locked out in the middle of the night when you lose your card
3. Getting zero sleep
4. Walking to class in the freezing snow or rain or hail
5. Dorm drama
6. No privacy
7. Being the only friend with a car
8. Visiting hours
9. Cleaning checks
10. Waking up to screaming in the middle of the night
11. Wearing flip flops in the shower
12. Going to the bathroom in a stall
I could say a lot about this year but I won't because it's over and I'm looking to the future.
However I really am going to miss everyone this summer and next fall... But I will see them in 8 months!

Finals Failure
Finals week.
Realized I am horrible at studying.
Done on Thursday.
I'll add my photos from final portfolio then!
Was in the lab for 4 1/2 hours today and made some prints I really like!

Time and Space
One of my projects for my photo class was to illustrate time and space...
I was very very lost in what to do and this is what I cam up with.
I had the idea that time is just an element that doesn't really mean anything until it is applied to life.
That is why one the one side I wrote out the measurements from a sundial ad printed that so it was a negative image and then I contact sheet printed it onto the image of Zac.
I then combined them in post production when mounting them to the board.
I really like how it turned out.

Yesterday Was Good
Yesterday was just a good day.
When you are looking back on your day and you just feel good... then you know it was a successful day!
I had a blast yesterday.
Holi Festival of Colors at the Hindu Temple celebrating the new colors and life of spring!
The Tree Show concert at Velour (an awesome little venue in Provo that does not look like it should be in Utah so I was impressed)
4 really amazing indie/folk bands played. I was blown away.
And then finishing the night with chicken fingers at Sammy's Cafe.
Couldn't ask for more really.
Spiral Jetty
If you have never heard of the Spiral Jetty you are probably not alone. So here is a little background:
Robert Smithson's monumental earthwork Spiral Jetty (1970) is located on the Great Salt Lake in Utah. Using black basalt rocks and earth from the site, the artist created a coil 1,500 feet long and 15 feet wide that stretches out counter-clockwise into the translucent red water. Spiral Jetty was acquired by Dia Art Foundation as a gift from the Estate of the artist in 1999.
But last week my photo class went on a little field trip if you will to the Spiral Jetty to take some pictures and to get out of Provo!
The Spiral itself was a little unimpressive, or rather just not was I was expecting, but the surrounding area was really cool.
Oh and by the way, this was the first time I saw the Great Salt Lake from the ground!
I took two rolls of film but here are some digital ones I took too...
